New Espace: A Modern Legend
       Simple design of the new Renault Espace car is a result of an innovative and simple bodywork.       Ideas of the beauty keep changing and Renault Espace changes as well. Due to the one-space concept the designers did not have to make any compromise. The result is clear and homogeneous body design. It attracts on the first sight by its genial simplicity but also refined elegance. This demonstrates itself in an unusual integration of exterior rear-view mirrors in the body. Air intakes designed to remind of an agressive elegance of the shark´s body are incorporated in the mirrors. Such deatails support its dynamic but compact outlook.
     Natural elegance of the car has its own style and rule all details must respect, from integrated roof mouldings and plates under the door serving as stylish element as well as the protection of mud to the body colour. Espace pleases not only aesthetes but also people who appreciate quality of all of the details. Renault Espace offers also an enormous interior space together with a quiet comfort of luxurious limousine and riding performance of a dynamic sedan. Its another advantage is an outstanding field of sight due to the large glass area reducing all of the "dead axles" but also due to the height of all of the seats.

Interior variability without the end
      You may remeber from your childhood all of the different brick-boxes offering a number of different variations. This wonderful feeling comes back thanks to the new Renault Espace car. Seats in the passengers comparment are identical, it is possible to move and exchange them. Their anchoring points offer a number of variable arrangments. All of the seats can be also longitudinally moved due to the specific mechanism. This system allows you to modify Espace within a few minutes according to your lifestyle or need at the moment. You may appreciate that the rear seats are fixed on a rail allowing the extraordinary longitudinal slide. This system offers enormous number of variations without any de-montage of the seats.

Safer than others
      Perfect sight out of the car is its important advantage. None of the other cars can compete in this field. Front columns of the body are firm but very slim, they do not obstruct the driver´s field of view. A pusher operating the "Voir Clair" (Clear View) ensures the good sight in all circumstances. When you push it, the stream of a warm air concetrates on all of the windows and the defroster device activates. Due to this the windows defrost and demist quickly. Twin-filament headlamps, additional fog lamps and the third stop light placed upwards in the rear door frame enhance the accident prevention standard.

Riding characteristics: one of the Espace´s advatages
      Rebuilt front and rear axle, more powerful steering assistance with progressive effect, well-dimensioned braking system and also wheels of a bigger diameter and broader tyres gave the car even better riding characteristics. New Espace behaves even in high speed calmly, showing minimum of side winds sensitivity which is outstanding in the class of large, spacious cars. Although this car is very comfortable it allows to the driver a very resent thoroughfare through the curve without any unpleasant bank.

      ABS system is supplied on demant (except RXE and V6 version equipped in a standard way). A device regulating the clearance height, which keeps at the same level with no regard to load, is on offer as well.

Safe in all circumstances
      Auto-retracting safety belts on both front seats and all of the side seats are fitted not only by pyrotechnic pre-tensioners but also by programmed fastening system, a Renault novelty. This system, which is  based on the results of an accident research made by Renault research department is an important novelty in safety belts operation. Pyrotechnic pre-tensioners tight the belts immediately after the impact and the belts push the passenger to the seat. Special belt anchoring is another important component of this system. It controls the belt pressure on the chest and abdomen and does not allow its raising to dangerous values.The form of the seats with integrated reinforcements prevents the body from sliding under the belt. The second seat row is equipped by special adjustable anchoring points of the belts. These points satisfy even short figures like children. All of the seats are equipped by vertically adjustable headrests.

      Crumple zones on front and rear able to absorb a big impact energy as well as longitudinal steel reinforcements in all of the doors protect the passengers of the impact´s results. The whole safety concept was based on the results of a number of computer simulations and crash-tests.
