Renault LAGUNA 98
In a near future, a
facelift of Laguna model will be presented by Renault on the Czech public. We attempt to
present the changes connecting with this popular model today yet.
Laguna was given a modificated face which reminds you with
the former top model - Renault Safrane Biturbo. From the front point of view, the changes
mostly relate to headlights, which contain limpid glass and new optical equipment.
Headlights might be equipped with very efficient xenon bulbs. A typical flute on a place
spot between the headlights was left out, there is a completely different design of a
bumper that makes it look like a shark. Back of the car was given new lights - the change
is represented rather by used material than by a shape. Composition and better light
permeability of the material
contributes towards an increase of traffic security.
Both spark-ignition and diesel engines were
considerably modificated. Laguna models will be enriched with new engines ECON 1,6 16V and
ECON 1,8 16V. At the same time, 1,9 dTi engine with direct injection ( common
rail ) is prepared. Technical specifications of the engines are mentioned in the chart
below.
According to customer´s wish, 2,0 l model
may be equipped with PROACTIVE fuzzylogic automatic transmisson, that adjusts changing
gear to required style of driving.
