EVE
Renault EVE based on Renault 18 was presented as a prototype of an
economy car. The main interest of the constructors was to improve the coefficient of
aerodynamic drag, whose value reached the minimum of 0,239 Cx This
Cd-value was 43 per cent lower than in any other European car of this class. Emphasis was
also placed on the use of electronics to improve engine and transmission functions.
Although its weight and other dimensions were comparable to Renault 18, EVE had much
smaller engine taken from R5TS. This engine had the capacity of just 1.100 ccm, which was
enough to grant this car good dynamic characteristics primarily due to its optimal
aerodynamic body.
