The concept of a ZO prototype was
based on the chassis known from Spider model. ZO prototype is powered by a new 2,0 l
engine. This engine uses as the first European power unit the system of direct fuel
injection. Its maximum output is 100 kW and the torque 188 Nm. It is expected this engine
will equip the production cars as well. 4-speed automatic "intelligent" gearbox equips
the car.
The chassis equipped by hydraulic pumps is another interesting
point of the car. This system allows changing the clearance height within 150 -- 280 mm.
The driver has though the chance to appreciate a dynamic road driving as well as ride
through terrain. Special Michelin 245/55 R17 tyres are designed to use the inner side for
road riding while the outside part is used when driving on a terrain surface. The body
reminds of a buggy style. Double doors open vertically in longitudinal axis of the car.
The cabin design is outstanding -- there are 3 seats in one row, the driver's seat is
in the middle. All of the control instruments are above the control desk. ZO has an
aperture leading the air above the passengers' heads instead of the window. Car's
illumination is outstanding as the car itself. There are two headlamps in front while
there are two light belts made of a new Lumogen material at the rear. The R ZO dimensions
are 3,850 mm x 1.850 mm x 1.360 mm, wheelbase 2.475 mm, kerb weight is 1.050 kg.
