On the
21st Rallye Paris-Dakar annual was gained a victory by the French crew Jean-Luis Schlesser
and Phillipe Monnet driving a car equipped with a Renault motor. The French double gained
so the first time a victory on this prestigious rallye with a vehicle powered by one
driving axle. Since 1982, as winner was the crew of Marreau brothers with a R 20 Turbo
4x4, the first time was Renault winner again.
